National Newspaper Publishers Association
The National Newspaper Publishers Association (NNPA) is a trade organization representing over 200 African American-owned newspapers in the United States. Founded in 1940, its mission is to promote the interests of Black publishers and advocate for the importance of Black media in the community. The NNPA also works to enhance the quality of journalism and support the economic viability of its member publications.
In addition to supporting its members, the NNPA engages in various initiatives to address social justice issues and promote literacy. The organization collaborates with other media groups and community organizations to amplify the voices of African Americans and ensure equitable representation in the media landscape.
