National Language
A national language is a language that has a special status in a country, often used in government, education, and media. It represents the identity and culture of the nation and is typically spoken by a large portion of the population. Countries may designate one or more national languages to promote unity and communication among diverse linguistic groups.
In many cases, a national language is also linked to the country's history and heritage. For example, in India, Hindi is one of the national languages, while English serves as an associate language. This helps facilitate governance and social cohesion in a multilingual society.
