National Investigation Agency
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is a central agency in India responsible for investigating and combating terrorism and other national security threats. Established in 2009, it operates under the Ministry of Home Affairs and has the authority to take over cases from state police forces when they involve terrorism or cross-border crimes.
The NIA investigates various offenses, including those related to terrorism, human trafficking, and cybercrime. It works closely with other law enforcement agencies and has the power to conduct raids, make arrests, and file charges in special courts. Its primary goal is to ensure the safety and security of the nation.
