National Flag of Lithuania
The National Flag of Lithuania consists of three horizontal stripes: yellow at the top, green in the middle, and red at the bottom. The yellow represents the sun and prosperity, the green symbolizes the forests and nature, and the red stands for the blood shed for freedom. This tricolor design was officially adopted in 1918 and has become a symbol of Lithuanian identity.
The flag was used during the interwar period and was re-adopted in 1989 after Lithuania declared independence from the Soviet Union. The colors are deeply rooted in Lithuanian history and culture, reflecting the nation's values and aspirations.
