National Flag of Ghana
The National Flag of Ghana features three horizontal stripes of red, yellow, and green. The red stripe symbolizes the blood shed for independence, the yellow represents the country's mineral wealth, and the green stands for the rich vegetation. In the center of the yellow stripe is a black five-pointed star, which represents African freedom and unity.
Adopted on March 6, 1957, the flag was designed by Theodosia Okoh, a Ghanaian artist. It was the first flag of an African nation to be adopted after gaining independence from colonial rule. The flag is a source of national pride and is displayed during various celebrations and events.
