National Centers for Environmental Prediction
The National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) is a division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in the United States. It is responsible for providing weather forecasts, warnings, and climate predictions. NCEP uses advanced computer models and observational data to analyze atmospheric conditions and generate forecasts for various time frames.
NCEP operates several centers, each focusing on different aspects of environmental prediction, including weather, ocean, and climate services. These centers work collaboratively to improve the accuracy of forecasts and support emergency management, agriculture, and public safety efforts across the nation.
