Narrowband
Narrowband refers to a type of communication that uses a limited range of frequencies to transmit data. This method is often used in applications where low data rates are sufficient, such as in telemetry, remote sensing, and some types of wireless communication. Narrowband systems can be more energy-efficient and can cover longer distances compared to broadband systems.
In contrast to broadband, which allows for high-speed data transmission over a wide frequency range, narrowband focuses on specific frequencies. This makes it ideal for applications like Internet of Things (IoT) devices, where small amounts of data are sent infrequently. Narrowband technologies can also be more cost-effective for certain uses.
