Naomi Shemer
Naomi Shemer was a prominent Israeli songwriter and composer, born on July 13, 1930, in Kibbutz Kinneret. She is best known for her contributions to Israeli music, particularly her iconic song "Jerusalem of Gold" which became an anthem for the city of Jerusalem after the Six-Day War in 1967.
Throughout her career, Shemer wrote over 200 songs, many of which reflect themes of love, nature, and the Israeli experience. Her work has had a lasting impact on Israeli culture, and she is often referred to as the "first lady of Israeli song." She passed away on June 30, 2004.
