Nanda Empire
The Nanda Empire was an ancient Indian dynasty that ruled from the 4th to the 3rd century BCE. It was known for its wealth and powerful military, which helped it control a large part of northern India. The empire was founded by Mahapadma Nanda, who is credited with unifying various smaller kingdoms.
The Nandas were significant for their administrative innovations and promotion of trade. They are often associated with the rise of Maurya Empire, as Chandragupta Maurya overthrew the last Nanda ruler, Dhanananda, around 322 BCE. The Nanda Empire played a crucial role in shaping early Indian history.
