Namdhari
The Namdhari community, also known as the Kuka sect, is a religious group within Sikhism that emerged in the 19th century in India. Founded by Baba Ram Singh, the Namdharis emphasize spiritual practice, social reform, and a strict adherence to the teachings of the Guru Granth Sahib. They are known for their distinctive white attire and their commitment to non-violence and equality.
Namdhari Sikhs follow a unique set of beliefs that include the rejection of the caste system and a focus on community service. They celebrate various festivals and hold regular congregational prayers, often in their own gurdwaras. The community has a significant presence in Punjab and has also spread to other parts of the world.
