Naktong River
The Naktong River is the longest river in South Korea, stretching approximately 513 kilometers. It flows from the Taebaek Mountains in the east and empties into the Korea Strait in the west. The river is an essential water source for agriculture and industry in the region.
Historically, the Naktong River played a significant role during the Korean War, particularly in the Battle of the Naktong Bulge in 1950. The river's strategic location made it a focal point for military operations, influencing the course of the conflict. Today, it is also a popular destination for recreational activities like fishing and kayaking.
