Nagarjunakonda
Nagarjunakonda is an ancient Buddhist site located in the Nallamala Hills of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was named after the famous Buddhist monk Nagarjuna, who played a significant role in the development of Mahayana Buddhism. The site features several ruins, including stupas, monasteries, and sculptures that date back to the 3rd century CE.
The area was submerged under the Nagarjuna Sagar Dam after its construction in the 1960s, but many artifacts were salvaged and relocated to an island museum.
