Naga Insurgency
The Naga Insurgency refers to a conflict in the northeastern region of India, primarily involving the Naga people, who seek greater autonomy or independence. The movement began in the 1940s, driven by a desire for self-determination and recognition of Naga identity. Various groups, such as the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN), have emerged, advocating for different degrees of autonomy.
The Indian government has engaged in peace talks with several Naga groups over the years, aiming to resolve the conflict. Despite some agreements, tensions remain due to differing aspirations among the Naga factions and the government's approach to addressing their demands.
