NTSC
NTSC stands for National Television System Committee, which is a color television broadcasting standard developed in the United States. It was established in the 1940s and became the primary format for analog television in North America and parts of South America and Asia. NTSC uses a frame rate of 29.97 frames per second and a resolution of 480i, which refers to the number of horizontal lines displayed on the screen.
The NTSC standard was widely used until the transition to digital broadcasting, which began in the early 2000s. Although it has been largely replaced by digital formats like ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee), NTSC remains important for understanding the history of television technology and its impact on media consumption.
