NORAD
The North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, is a joint military organization of the United States and Canada. Established in 1958, its primary mission is to monitor and defend North American airspace against potential threats, including aircraft and missile attacks. NORAD operates from a command center located in Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado, utilizing advanced radar and satellite technology.
In addition to its defense role, NORAD also conducts aerospace warning and control operations. It collaborates with various agencies to ensure the safety of air travel and responds to natural disasters. Each year, NORAD is also known for its popular Christmas Eve tracking of Santa Claus, engaging the public in a festive tradition.
