NGC_6992
NGC_6992, also known as the Veil Nebula, is a stunning supernova remnant located in the constellation Cygnus. It is approximately 2,100 light-years away from Earth and spans about 3 degrees in the sky, which is roughly six times the width of the full moon.
The nebula is composed of glowing gas and dust, primarily hydrogen and helium, and is the result of a massive star that exploded around 5,000 to 8,000 years ago. Its intricate filaments and structures are best observed through telescopes, revealing a beautiful tapestry of colors and patterns in the night sky.
