NGC_1977
NGC_1977 is a bright reflection nebula located in the constellation of Orion. It is part of a larger complex known as the Orion Molecular Cloud, which contains several other notable objects, including the famous Orion Nebula. NGC 1977 is approximately 1,600 light-years away from Earth and is characterized by its striking blue color, which results from the scattering of light by dust particles.
The nebula is often referred to as the "Running Man Nebula" due to its resemblance to a figure in motion. It is a relatively small region, spanning about 5 arcminutes across, and is home to several young stars that illuminate the surrounding gas and dust. NGC 1977 is a popular target for amateur astronomers and astrophotographers.
