NGC 7340
NGC 7340 is a bright open star cluster located in the constellation of Pegasus. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1784. This cluster is approximately 2,000 light-years away from Earth and contains several young stars that are still in the process of forming.
The cluster is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars, which are bound together by their mutual gravitational attraction. NGC 7340 is often studied by astronomers to understand the formation and evolution of star clusters in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
