NGC 6853
NGC 6853, also known as the Dumbbell Nebula, is a planetary nebula located in the constellation Vulpecula. It is approximately 1,500 light-years away from Earth and has a diameter of about 0.5 light-years. The nebula is formed from the outer layers of a dying star that has shed its material, creating a glowing shell of gas.
The central star of NGC 6853 is a white dwarf, which is the remnant core of the original star. This white dwarf emits intense ultraviolet radiation, causing the surrounding gas to ionize and emit light. The nebula is best observed through telescopes and is a popular target for amateur astronomers.
