NGC 6760
NGC 6760 is a globular cluster located in the constellation Aquila. It is approximately 20,000 light-years away from Earth and contains hundreds of thousands of stars, tightly packed together due to their mutual gravitational attraction. This cluster is estimated to be around 12 billion years old, making it one of the older star clusters in our galaxy.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1784, NGC 6760 is notable for its relatively high concentration of red giant stars. These stars are in the later stages of their life cycles, having exhausted the hydrogen in their cores. The cluster's brightness and density make it a fascinating object for astronomers studying stellar evolution.
