NGC 591
NGC 591 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation of Pisces. It is approximately 70 million light-years away from Earth and is part of the Lyon-Meudon Extragalactic Database. The galaxy has a diameter of about 50,000 light-years and is characterized by its distinct spiral arms and a bright central bar structure.
Discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1784, NGC 591 is notable for its relatively high surface brightness. It is often studied by astronomers to understand the formation and evolution of spiral galaxies, as well as the dynamics of their stellar populations.
