NGC 4490
NGC 4490 is a spiral galaxy located approximately 25 million light-years away in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is also known as the "Whirlpool Galaxy" and is notable for its irregular shape, which is a result of gravitational interactions with its companion galaxy, NGC 4485.
This galaxy spans about 60,000 light-years in diameter and is classified as a type of Sbc spiral galaxy. NGC 4490 is rich in star formation, with many bright, young stars and regions of intense activity, making it an interesting subject for astronomers studying galaxy evolution and interactions.
