NGC 2168
NGC 2168, also known as the Lynx Cluster, is an open star cluster located in the constellation Lynx. It is approximately 1,300 light-years away from Earth and contains around 50 stars. The cluster is estimated to be about 100 million years old, making it relatively young in astronomical terms.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1788, NGC 2168 is notable for its bright stars, which are easily visible through small telescopes. The cluster spans about 20 light-years across and is part of the Milky Way galaxy, providing valuable insights into stellar formation and evolution.
