NGC 2017
NGC 2017 is a bright open cluster located in the constellation of Taurus. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel in 1786. This cluster contains several stars that are relatively young and are bound together by their mutual gravitational attraction.
The cluster is situated approximately 1,800 light-years away from Earth and is part of a larger region rich in stellar formations. NGC 2017 is often studied for its stellar population and dynamics, providing insights into the processes of star formation and evolution in our galaxy, the Milky Way.
