NGC 1886
NGC 1886 is a bright globular cluster located in the constellation Doradus. It is approximately 130,000 light-years away from Earth and is part of the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy of the Milky Way. NGC 1886 contains a large number of stars, many of which are older and metal-poor, indicating its ancient formation.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1836, NGC 1886 is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars in a compact area. The cluster is often studied to understand the formation and evolution of globular clusters, as well as the dynamics of star populations in different environments.
