NGC 188
NGC 188 is an open star cluster located in the constellation Cassiopeia. It is approximately 5,000 light-years away from Earth and is one of the oldest known star clusters, estimated to be around 6.3 billion years old. NGC 188 contains several hundred stars, many of which are similar in age and composition.
The cluster is notable for its relatively high concentration of stars and its lack of bright, massive stars, which makes it an interesting subject for astronomers studying stellar evolution. NGC 188 is also a valuable benchmark for understanding the formation and dynamics of star clusters in the universe.
