NGC 147
NGC 147 is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy located approximately 2.5 million light-years away in the constellation of Cassiopeia. It is part of the Local Group, which includes the Milky Way and Andromeda galaxies. NGC 147 has a diameter of about 6,000 light-years and contains a relatively small number of stars compared to larger galaxies.
Discovered by John Herschel in 1829, NGC 147 is known for its low surface brightness and lack of significant star formation. It is thought to be a satellite galaxy of the Andromeda Galaxy and is often studied to understand the formation and evolution of galaxies in the universe.
