NGC 1036
NGC 1036 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 50 million light-years away in the constellation Eridanus. It was discovered by the astronomer John Herschel in 1834 and is part of a group of galaxies known as the Eridanus Group.
This galaxy has a diameter of about 60,000 light-years and features a prominent central bar structure, which is characteristic of barred spiral galaxies. NGC 1036 is also notable for its bright core and the presence of several star-forming regions, making it an interesting object for astronomers studying galaxy formation and evolution.
