NGC 1002
NGC 1002 is a barred spiral galaxy located approximately 200 million light-years away in the constellation Perseus. It was discovered by the astronomer William Herschel on November 24, 1786. The galaxy is notable for its distinct bar structure, which is a common feature in many spiral galaxies.
With an apparent magnitude of around 14.0, NGC 1002 is not visible to the naked eye but can be observed using small telescopes. It is part of a larger group of galaxies and contributes to our understanding of galaxy formation and evolution in the universe.
