NGC 1001
NGC 1001 is a barred spiral galaxy located in the constellation Andromeda. It is part of the NGC 1023 group and is approximately 30 million light-years away from Earth. NGC 1001 has a diameter of about 100,000 light-years and contains a significant number of stars, gas, and dust.
Discovered by William Herschel in 1786, NGC 1001 is notable for its bright core and well-defined spiral arms. It is often studied by astronomers to understand galaxy formation and evolution. The galaxy is also a target for observations using powerful telescopes like the Hubble Space Telescope.
