NAT-PMP
NAT-PMP, or Network Address Translation Port Mapping Protocol, is a network protocol that allows devices on a private network to automatically configure port forwarding on a router. This enables external devices to communicate with services hosted on the private network, such as gaming consoles or servers, without manual configuration.
The primary benefit of NAT-PMP is its simplicity and ease of use. It allows applications to request the router to open specific ports, facilitating seamless connectivity for online activities. This protocol is often used in conjunction with UPnP (Universal Plug and Play) to enhance network functionality.
