N4 (Level)
The N4 level is part of the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), which assesses the ability to understand Japanese. At this level, learners can comprehend basic Japanese used in everyday situations. They can read and understand simple texts and conversations, focusing on familiar topics.
To achieve N4, students should know around 300 kanji characters and 1,500 vocabulary words. This level serves as a bridge between beginner and intermediate proficiency, allowing learners to engage in simple discussions and understand basic written materials, such as manga and children's books.
