JLPT N5
The Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N5 is the most basic level of the JLPT, designed for beginners. It assesses the ability to understand simple Japanese used in everyday situations. Test-takers should be familiar with about 800 vocabulary words, 100 kanji characters, and basic grammar.
The JLPT N5 consists of three sections: language knowledge (vocabulary and kanji), reading, and listening. Passing this level indicates that a person can understand simple conversations and written texts, making it a great starting point for those learning Japanese.
