Myuran Sukumaran
Myuran Sukumaran was an Australian national born on January 17, 1981. He gained international attention for his involvement in drug trafficking in Indonesia, where he was arrested in 2005 as part of the Bali Nine, a group attempting to smuggle heroin from Indonesia to Australia. Sukumaran was sentenced to death in 2006.
During his time in prison, Sukumaran became an artist and educator, using his skills to teach art to fellow inmates. His transformation and efforts for rehabilitation garnered support from various human rights organizations, leading to widespread calls for clemency. Despite these efforts, he was executed by firing squad on April 29, 2015.
