Mwanga II
Mwanga II was the king of the Kingdom of Buganda, located in present-day Uganda. He ruled from 1884 to 1888 and again from 1890 to 1897. Mwanga II is known for his resistance against British colonial influence and his efforts to maintain the independence of his kingdom during a time of significant political change in East Africa.
His reign was marked by conflict, particularly with Christian missionaries and the growing power of the British Empire. Mwanga II's opposition to foreign control led to his eventual exile, but he remains a significant figure in the history of Uganda and the struggle for independence in the region.
