Muscovy duck
The Muscovy duck is a large, domesticated duck species native to Central and South America. It is known for its distinctive appearance, featuring a mostly black or dark brown body with white wing patches and a red facial caruncle. Unlike many other duck species, Muscovy ducks do not quack; instead, they produce a variety of hissing and grunting sounds.
Muscovy ducks are often raised for their meat and eggs, which are considered a delicacy in some cultures. They are also popular as pets due to their calm demeanor and ability to adapt to various environments. Their diet mainly consists of grains, insects, and aquatic plants, making them effective foragers.
