Murray Goulburn Cooperative
The Murray Goulburn Cooperative was an Australian dairy cooperative founded in 1950. It was one of the largest dairy companies in Australia, processing milk and producing a variety of dairy products, including cheese, butter, and milk powder. The cooperative was owned by its farmer members, who supplied milk to the company.
In 2017, Murray Goulburn faced financial difficulties and underwent a significant restructuring. The cooperative was eventually sold to the Saputo Inc., a Canadian dairy company, which aimed to stabilize operations and enhance product offerings. This transition marked a significant change in the cooperative's long history in the Australian dairy industry.
