Murmuration
Murmuration refers to the phenomenon where large flocks of birds, particularly starlings, move in synchronized patterns through the sky. This behavior creates stunning displays as the birds twist and turn in unison, often resembling a flowing wave. Murmurations can involve thousands of birds and are typically seen during dusk when they gather to roost.
The exact reasons behind murmurations are still being studied, but they are believed to help protect the flock from predators, such as hawks. By moving together, the birds can confuse their attackers and reduce the risk of individual predation.
