Muriquis
Muriquis, also known as woolly spider monkeys, are large primates native to the forests of Brazil. They belong to the family Atelidae and are known for their long limbs and prehensile tails, which help them navigate the treetops. Muriquis are social animals, living in groups that can include both males and females, and they primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers.
There are two species of muriquis: the southern muriqui and the northern muriqui. Both species are considered endangered due to habitat loss and hunting. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their natural habitats and ensure their survival in the wild.
