Multi-Purpose Logistics Module
A Multi-Purpose Logistics Module (MPLM) is a reusable spacecraft designed to transport cargo to and from the International Space Station (ISS). It can carry supplies, equipment, and experiments, making it essential for maintaining the ISS and supporting its crew. The MPLM is launched into space aboard a Space Shuttle and can remain attached to the ISS for several months.
The MPLM features multiple compartments that can be configured for different types of cargo, including scientific instruments and spare parts. After its mission, the MPLM returns to Earth, where it can be refurbished and reused for future missions, enhancing the efficiency of space logistics.
