Mountains of Malaysia
The mountains of Malaysia are primarily found in the central region of the country, forming part of the Titiwangsa Range. The highest peak is Gunung Tahan, which stands at 2,187 meters. These mountains are known for their rich biodiversity, including unique flora and fauna, and are popular for hiking and eco-tourism.
The climate in the mountainous areas is cooler and wetter than in the lowlands, supporting lush rainforests. Many of these mountains, such as Gunung Mulu and Gunung Kinabalu, are also recognized as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, attracting nature enthusiasts and researchers from around the world.
