Mount of Temptation
The Mount of Temptation is a significant site located near Jericho in the West Bank. It rises about 350 meters above the surrounding area and is traditionally believed to be the place where Jesus was tempted by the devil during his 40 days of fasting, as described in the Gospels.
The mountain features a monastery, known as the Monastery of the Temptation, which was built into the cliffs. Visitors can reach the site by a cable car or hiking, and it offers stunning views of the Jordan Valley and the surrounding landscape, making it a popular destination for pilgrims and tourists alike.
