Mount Paektu
Mount Paektu is a volcanic mountain located on the border between North Korea and China. It stands at 2,744 meters (9,003 feet) and is the highest peak on the Korean Peninsula. The mountain is known for its stunning crater lake, called Heaven Lake, which is situated at its summit and is a significant cultural symbol for both Koreas.
The area around Mount Paektu is rich in biodiversity and features various ecosystems, including forests and alpine meadows. It is also considered a sacred site in Korean culture, often associated with myths and legends, particularly those involving the founding of the Korean nation.
