Motion Sickness
Motion sickness is a common condition that occurs when there is a disconnect between what the eyes see and what the inner ear senses. This can happen during activities like riding in a car, flying in an airplane, or even playing video games. Symptoms often include dizziness, nausea, sweating, and vomiting.
The condition is thought to be caused by the brain receiving mixed signals from the body. For example, while the body feels motion, the eyes may be focused on a stationary object, leading to confusion. Treatments can include medications, acupressure, and behavioral strategies to help manage symptoms.
