Mornese Language
The Mornese language is a constructed language created by the Salesian priest and linguist Giovanni Bosco in the late 19th century. It was developed to facilitate communication among the youth in the Salesian community, particularly in the Mornese region of Italy, where Bosco founded the Salesian Institute.
Mornese is primarily based on the Piedmontese dialect but incorporates elements from other languages, including Italian and French. The language is characterized by its unique vocabulary and grammar, reflecting the cultural and social context of the Salesian mission. Today, Mornese is mainly used within the Salesian community and for educational purposes.
