Giovanni Bosco
Giovanni Bosco, also known as Saint John Bosco, was an Italian priest and educator born on August 16, 1815, in Castelnuovo Don Bosco. He dedicated his life to helping disadvantaged youth and founded the Salesian Society in 1859, which focused on providing education and vocational training.
Bosco emphasized the importance of reason, religion, and loving-kindness in his approach to education. He created the Oratory of Saint Francis de Sales in Turin, where he offered a safe environment for boys to learn and grow. He passed away on January 31, 1888, and was canonized as a saint in 1934.
