Morbillivirus
Morbillivirus is a genus of viruses that primarily infects mammals, causing diseases such as measles in humans and canine distemper in dogs. These viruses are part of the Paramyxoviridae family and are known for their ability to spread through respiratory droplets.
In addition to measles and canine distemper, Morbillivirus includes other viruses like rinderpest virus, which affects cattle. The infections can lead to severe health issues, including respiratory problems and immune system suppression, making prevention through vaccination crucial for controlling outbreaks in both domestic and wild animal populations.
