Moral Agents
A moral agent is an individual or entity capable of making ethical decisions and understanding the consequences of their actions. This includes humans who can reason about right and wrong, as well as some advanced artificial intelligences that are programmed to consider ethical implications. Moral agents are responsible for their choices and can be held accountable for their behavior.
In philosophy, the concept of moral agency is often discussed in relation to concepts like free will and moral responsibility. Moral agents must possess certain cognitive abilities, such as empathy and self-awareness, to navigate complex moral dilemmas and make informed decisions that align with ethical standards.
