Moonrat
The Moonrat is a small mammal belonging to the family Erinaceidae, which also includes hedgehogs. Found primarily in Southeast Asia, particularly in Malaysia and Indonesia, Moonrats have a distinctive appearance with a long snout and coarse fur. They are nocturnal creatures, primarily feeding on insects, worms, and small invertebrates.
Moonrats are known for their unique adaptations, including a keen sense of smell that helps them locate food in the dark. They are solitary animals and prefer forested habitats, where they can find shelter and resources. Despite their name, they are not related to rats but are more closely associated with shrews.
