Gymnure
A gymnure is a small mammal belonging to the family Erinaceidae, which also includes hedgehogs. These creatures are primarily found in Southeast Asia and are known for their long, slender bodies and soft fur. Gymnures are nocturnal and have a diet that mainly consists of insects, fruits, and small invertebrates.
Unlike hedgehogs, gymnures lack spines and have a more rat-like appearance. They are often referred to as moonrats due to their resemblance to rats and their nocturnal habits. Gymnures play an important role in their ecosystems by helping control insect populations and dispersing seeds through their feeding activities.
